Counselling
Mrs. Dezamits (School Counsellor), Mrs. Brown (School Counsellor)
The counseling offices are located next to the main office. Students are encouraged to stop by to see either Mrs. Dezamits or Mrs. Brown. They can support you both academically and personally.
Counsellors organize liaison visits between students and post-secondary representatives as well as assist students with applications for financial aid (student loans, scholarships and bursaries) for their post-secondary education. They counsel students regarding such things as academic progress, attendance and behaviour. They will assist you in selecting appropriate courses and offer career counseling.
The counselors are always available for personal counseling and are prepared to help students in resolving special problems (e.g. with staff members, family, peers, self) as well as developing skills in making personal decisions and realizing their potential. The counsellors will also help refer students to outside counseling agencies for additional support.
