MyHEARTSMAP COVID-19 Study Looking for Volunteers

The MyHEARTSMAP team is looking for 100-200 more families to participate in this study.

BC Children’s Hospital COVID-19 Study - MyHEARTSMAP

The COVID-19 pandemic has presented several challenges to the children and youth of BC, as they have had to face new restrictions and uncertainties. From physical distancing measures, decreased social interactions, and now a new way of returning to school - these measures can significantly impact the mental health of our province’s children and youth.

A research team, led by Dr. Quynh Doan, at BC Children’s Hospital is looking for parents’ and children’s help in assessing just that. Using an online instrument, they hope to better understand the impact of the pandemic on youth’s mental health, as well as help guide the province’s resources to adequately address their needs.

The study has already kicked off, as they are hearing back from several parents and youth of the province. You can learn more about their research from the recent Global News coverage  as well as from the BC Children’s Research Institute Page.

You can also directly access the study’s website for more information and to see how you and your child may participate.
